Grenache noir is the world's most widely planted grape used to make red wine. It is one of the primary grapes of Frances famous appellations of Chateauneuf-du-Pape and Cotes du Rhone. On its own, Grenache makes fleshy, heady, very fruity wines in their youth and the best of the variety can age for decades. Very good with roasted meats, game birds, venison steaks, and hearty fish such as swordfish or tuna.
