Morse Code
The Morse Code Shiraz is a fruit-driven wine with minimal oak to allow the fruit flavors and regional characters to the forefront. The wine shows fruit characters of blueberries and cherries with hints of liquorice and touches of spice and pepper. The palate is rich and full with a nice depth of berry fruit, toasted spice and a touch of mint, with a fleshy mid palate and a soft, round finish. The fruit for this wine was sourced from the Estate's Padthaway vineyards. The vines are in various types of soil, including red loam, black loam and deep sand over limestone. A small proportion of the wine finished ferment in barrel, but the majority was unoaked to allow the fruit to shine. The Morse Code label is a new addition to the Henry’s Drive portfolio.

Ripe and velvety, with juicy blackberry and plum flavors, plus a nice hint of roasted meat, on a supple frame. Drink now through 2012.

Wine Enthusiast
Intensely fruity and fresh, with mounds of blueberries and raspberries carried by a slightly syrupy mouthfeel. Sure, Euro-drinking snobs might call it a simple fruit bomb, but it’s a darn good version of that style. Drink it over the next 2-3 years.

The 2008 Morse Code Shiraz is a supple, juicy, easy-going Shiraz with ample blue and black fruit flavors that will offer pleasure over the next 2-3 years.

Biodynamic
Biodynamic designation is regulated by Demeter, an international certification organization. Biodynamic agriculture is based on the view of a farm as a self-contained organism. Certified organic vineyards must meet Demeter"s additional criteria for a period of one year before earning the designation "biodynamic."
Sustainably Grown
Sustainable practices incorporate organic standards and may exceed them and include ecologically and socially sound business practices such as fair pay for farm workers and energy conservation.
Screw Cap
Wines sealed with a screw cap as opposed to a cork, which experts report protects and preserves wine more effectively than does a cork, while also eliminating the possibility of cork taint.
No Sulfites
All wines naturally contain some sulfites, however wines that contain less than 10 parts per million sulfites are not required to include "Contains Sulfites" on their labels.

I still believe it is the simplest way to rate a wine, with its origins from grade school in the United States. A wine that I rate 90 points or more is outstanding (A), and worth buying. If I rate a wine 95 points or more (A+), it is a must buy.
